Frances Unisex Cuban Shirt, Berry Red Stripe
Your go-to summer short sleeve shirt staple, in uplifting berry red and white stripes, puts the fun into functional dressing. This relaxed Cuban style makes the ritual of dressing for the sunshine a breeze.
The Frances Shirt is unisex, cut from a menswear block, tailored to make sure it works for both the male and female frame. The box pleat in the back body gives an extra softness to its swing, whilst the pearly natural cream Codelite® buttons elevate this shirt with a special touch. Trimmed with the signature Saywood embroidered flower over the pocket for a touch of natural beauty, whilst in contrast the hidden pocket on the opposing side delivers that unexpected detailing.
Cut from designer deadstock cotton, using up what already exists, the Frances Shirt can be paired with matching Bessie Shorts for the full Twin Set look.

Wash less, love always
We recommend hanging your shirt to air outdoors, rather than washing after every wear. This way, it will last longer and also have a lower environmental impact. Spot clean marks with warm soapy water, and when it does need a wash, follow our care advice:
- Machine wash 30 degrees
- Wash with similar colours
- Medium iron
- Do not bleach
- Do not tumble dry
A note on our cotton and Codelite® buttons
Our berry red stripe cotton is from designer deadstock, bought through Nona Source, a supplier who collects surplus cloth directly from fashion houses. This particular cloth originally came from a fabric mill in Portugal. We’ve used Codelite® for our buttons, a natural material made from casein, a protein derived from milk. Codelite® is also biodegradable, which means your shirt’s impact on the environment once it reaches the end of its lifecycle will be reduced further.
The Frances Shirt is handmade in the UK, in London at Apparel Tasker, just down the road from the Saywood studioa short distance from our studio; keeping our carbon footprint to a minimum and supporting our local manufacturing industry.
